Beauty Secrets, ahhhh …. we love these little perks!

Try this favorite of fashion models and stylists: dab Preparation H on puffy spots under the eyes. The shark liver oil in the product reduces water retention in the under eye area just as it shrinks hemorrhoidal tissues.

Witch Hazel and Listerine are other fashion favorites, but they’ll dry out your skin in a big way, and who needs that????

Don’t forget your skin doesn’t stop at your jaw!!!! When you have time, apply facial masks to your neck and decollete , too. And always apply moisturizer and sun protection to the neck as well.

Redness of the eyes? There’s always Visine, of course! But nothing takes the redness out of bloodshot eyes as well as a French product called Colydre Blue; it makes blue eyes seem bluer, and the white of the eyes whiter. For puffiness around the eyes, keep eye gel in the fridge, and apply morning and night.

Don’t uses testers at cosmetic counter. If you must test makeup, do it on the back of your hand or on your fingertips, and uses a fresh applicator like a cotton ball or a Q-Tip. In a store, the preservatives don’t have time to kill bacteria after each use.

Always carry a tiny tube of cream with you, and if your skin starts to feel dry during the day, dab on a small amount, especially under the eyes and around the sides of the mouth.

If you want to keep your skin free of bacteria, dead cells, and product residue, mix 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar or white vinegar into a cup of warm water, then pat on the face with a soft, clean cloth or cotton balls. Applied once a week, it will keep pimples at bay, because the bacteria that causes zits, are non acid-tolerant, and they die!!!!

To avoid red swath of pimples on the cheeks that characterizes as rosacea, avoid the same foods that can trigger migraines: alcohol, red wine, chocolate and spicy foods.

If you have sensitive skin or are allergy-prone, do a patch test before you try any new product. Apply a small amount to your neck or upper arm and wait for 24 hours to see whether you develop a rash. If you do, either consult a doctor who can help isolate the source for you or systematically eliminate the ingredients listed above in order to see where the problem lies.

When waxing hold your upper lip taut by sticking your tongue out behind it. Afterward, apply a gentle gel like aloe to the lip. The skin usually remains red for 15 to 20 minutes.

Both saunas and steam rooms can cause broken capillaries in the face. Before you sit in either, and especially if you go back and forth between extremes of temperature, protect your face with a light layer of moisturizer. After an aromatherapy massage or facial, avoid the sauna or steam for at least an hour. The mix of intense heat and essential oils can inflame the skin.

The absolute best razor is the non disposable Gillette SensorExcel along with Gillette Satin Care Shave Gel. You avoid cuts and razor burns, which are painful and ugly.

In the 19th century, mascaro was used by both sexes as a touch-up for graying hair. By the 21st century, hair mascara is back, thanks to baby boomers who want to cover up a few stray grays, and Christian Dior’s Mascara Flash for Hair has become the best seller.
