Stress is one of the biggest factors related to health, body, and mind challenges, which brings an array of unwanted, negative reactions to our lives. Why continue giving stress so much power? How can we encourage one another to free ourselves from adverse thoughts leading to unwanted circumstances?

The effect of stress leaves undesirable signs on our beautiful complexion, making them more real than ever; common indicators are breakouts, premature aging, dull appearance, lack of suppleness, and so much more.  It’s time we take necessary steps towards a healthier, happier life, I believe we can do it together, are you ready? Let’s get going by starting today!

1. Love and Gratitude

Be grateful for who you are, there’s only one of you; you are loved, cherished, and cared for, even through challenging times. Once you’re able to feel love for yourself, the Universe will open up imaginable doors and lay an exciting and amazing path for you.

If you want something, a loving relationships, financial abundance, health,  or anything else, you must become love, you can achieve this by first loving yourself, fall in love with who you are, honor yourself, accept the way you are, celebrate you.

Once you love who you are, loving and accepting others will become a natural part of life, happiness and joy will join forces and become who you are; peace of mind will overpower any negative thought, and stress will begin to reside elsewhere, and no longer within you.

2. Exercise

Always receive clearance before participating in any  form of physical activity.  Amongst the many, my favorite is Bikram Yoga, what’s yours? Please feel free to share by commenting and leaving your valuable feedback below.

Bikram Yoga makes me feel incredible, when stress creeps up, I check the schedule and attend a 90 minute class …..  Aaaaahhh, this amazing practice heals from within, calms emotions, invigorates the heart, promotes blood circulation, improves flexibility, not to mention my skin clears up! If you never tried this form of exercise I encourage you to give it a try, you may be surprised in how great you feel psychologically and physically.

3. Kiss

Kissing is the art of pure love! Kiss away! Kiss your loved ones! Hug away, increase the energy flow around you!

According to Best Kisses kissing has amazing health benefits “Kissing is a known stress-reliever. Passionate kissing relieves tension, reduces negative energy and produces a sense of well-being, lowering your cortisol ‘stress’ hormone.”

Cortisol being the stress hormone causes premature aging, wrinkles and hormonal breakouts, so why not fight back with pure love energy? There you have it, take it a step further, make it your daily health tip, kiss away!

4. Appreciate Nature

Feeling down? Go outside, take a deep breath, enjoy our beautiful Earth! Go hiking, or perhaps a brisk walk? Maybe you prefer a swim? With so many activities, pick one and love it! With each motion inhale love and exhale gratitude!

Life is beautiful, full of opportunities and amazing people, appreciate nature and always Think Green! By helping our environment, we reduce pollution, toxic waste, the ability to keep our Earth clean is in our hands, by making conscious efforts in recycling we are protecting our health from free radicals which are damaging to our skin and hair as well. Let’s work together in removing our Carbon Footprint from Mother Earth.

Aromatherapy is personal

[slideshow]

When choosing essential oils, follow your sense of smell, pick what you like. Studies have shown aromatherapy and massage are beneficial and decrease insomnia, blood pressure, anxiety, pain, stress levels, and skin care condition. Using essential oils, is a great way in improving life quality, behavioral modification and weight-loss.

Aromatherapy is personal, our sense of smell affects our emotions, behaviours, and reactions, triggering memory regardless of the experience.  Breathing aroma may invigorate productivity, raise confidence levels, and increase performance.

There are many essential oils, my ultimate favorites are:

  • Citrus oils – Orange, mandarin, lemon, and bergamot
  • Spice oils – Vanilla and cinnamon
  • Flower oils – Jasmine, rose, ylang-ylang, and lavender
  • Leaves oils – Eucalyptus, lavender, and sage
  • Root oils – Cinnamon leaf, tea tree, sandalwood, pine and ginger

Let’s think together here, how can we eliminate stress from out daily commute to work or school? Lavender and rosemary, a great combination! Lavender restores balance and rosemary is excellent for concentration, instead of yelling at the car in front of you, relax, let the aromatherapy help you in ways you never thought possible, breath and relax.

Ever feel tired when you wake-up? Try this refreshing mix of orange, tangerine, and jasmine; it will leave you feeling invigorated, and ready for a beautiful day!

Lower back pain is one of the major complaints, ask your loved one to massage your back, add a few drops of juniper, basil, chamomile, and peppermint oil in a massage cream and gently rub the painful area.

Colds are not fun, what I found helpful and cleansing is eucalyptus oil, you may use it in a diffuser, or in a steamy shower, the results are magnificent … aaaahhh …. I can breathe again!

Around 2 pm, energy levels decrease, leaving us sluggish and sleepy, and caffeine isn’t always an answer, … how about aromatherapy? A great energizing mix in a diffuser containing peppermint, eucalyptus and lemon oils, will results in leaving you feeling refreshed, and ready for the second part of the day.

If you have a few mixes you wold like to share with us, please do share with us!

As always, thank you for reading!

Back to Basics – How to achieve a glow from the inside out.

1. Eat a diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables.Five daily servings of each is the recommended requirement. There’s no substitute for the vitamins and minerals in food, and you’ll give conscientious about eating healthy, unprocessed, non-junk food. Fruits and vegetables provide necessary substances called phytochemicals, which you can’t get from nutritional supplements. They lower cholesterol, flush out carcinogens, boost the immune system, and reduce the effect of aging.

2. Take a high-quality multiple vitamin every day.
Please do not use a substitute for food, but as a supplement. Vitamin-A stimulates healthy cell growth, Vitamin-C helps oxygen flow to the skin, and Vitamin-E helps fight acne. B vitamins aid the production of collagen in the skin and are essential for healthy hair. Vitamin-B2 (riboflavin) in particular helps prevent oily skin and strengthens the nails. Biotin can help prevent scaly skin and dermatitis and helps the body process protein, which is what your skin, hair and nails are made of. The minerals included is most multivitamin supplements are also important. Zinc promotes healthy skin and hair; selenium preserves the elasticity of the skin. Your body needs to process these nutrients through digestion. A moisturizer loaded with Vitamin-C, magnesium, and ginkgo biloba may sound healthy, but it won’t make up for a nutritional deficiency. You can’t feed your skin on the outside what is missing on the inside.

3. Fat in moderation is a well-kept but invaluable beauty secret.
Fat helps your body (and skin) utilize protein. This isn’t to say that you should load on cholesterol-raising saturated animal fats. You shouldn’t. But  your body does need unsaturated fats from vegetable oils like olive, corn, safflower, or canola, every day. So don’t deprive yourself of that vinaigrette on your salad – a tablespoon of olive oil, a squeeze of lemon, a dab of Dijon mustard – it’s good for you. Enjoy it!

4. Drink at least eight glasses of water each day.
The best way to keep your skin hydrated is to moisturize, from the inside out. Since the human body, like the earth, is made up of approximately 70 percent water and water accounts for 70 percent of our skin weight, it makes sense that we need to continuously replenish our precious bodily fluid and keep our cells hydrated. Sport drinks, sodas, coffee, alcoholic beverages, will dehydrate your body.

5. Exercise
Daily exercise will get your blood flowing and stimulate the oxygen flow to feed the skin. The minimum amount of aerobic exercise necessary to maintain good health is 20 minutes, three times a week. Avoid taking quick shallow breaths, try to breath deeply and from the diaphragm (i.e. yoga breathing).

6. Don’t drink too much coffee, tea, or alcohol.
moderation is key, if any one of these are your vice, keep them to a minimum. They are considered diuretics that dehydrate the body and restricts it of Vitamin-B which helps keep nails hard, hair thick, and skin luminous. A deficiency of Vitamin-B can result dry, thin skin.

7. Don’t smoke.
If you won’t quit for health reasons, maybe vanity will motivate you. It’s been scientifically proven that smoking wreaks havoc on your skin, and nicotine-stained teeth are hardly attractive. Smoking (and drinking) depletes the body of Vitamin-B and damages the capillary walls, which deprives the skin cells of oxygen. The elastin fibers, which keep skin supple, thicken and fragment in smokers’ skin, much like skin that’s been overexposed to sunlight. Smoking also stunts the growth of collagen, and loss of collagen can lead to wrinkles. Nicotine retards cell growth in the skin and reduces the blood supply, which also slows healing. Both tar and nicotine cause artificial aging of skin, much like the sun, your skin ages at three times the normal rate. If you smoke, you age it at four times the normal rate. The combination factors out to 12 times normal. Do you really want that?

8. Use sun protection every day.
Conscientious use of sunscreen will prevent up to 90 percent of the skin damage caused by ultraviolet rays.

9. Get your fair share of shut-eye.
Lack of sleep can dehydrate the skin and cause flaky patches, pale or ashy skin, brittle nails, and hair loss, not to mention puffiness around the eyes.

10. Laugh. Relax. Enjoy life.
Laugh as much as possible! Did you know stress causes an increase production of cortisol? Cortisol is a hormone in the body secreted by the adrenal glands, it is also referred to as the stress hormone, higher and prolonged levels of cortisol in the bloodstream have been shown to have negative effects such as :

  • Higher Blood Pressure
  • Decreased Bone Density
  • Blood Sugar Imbalances
  • Lower Immunity
  • Suppressed Thyroid Function
  • Decrease in Muscle Tissue
  • Increase in Abdominal Fat

Relax, don’t sweat the small stuff! Most importantly “Enjoy Life”!!!!!
