Say what? Cover what? The topic is skin deep, no pun intended, and I’m talking about  protecting your luscious lips with a natural lip balm containing UV protection. Did you know your lips (along with your eye area) have some of the thinnest skin layers on your body surface? Just like the eye area, they need extra shielding, protection from free radicals.

Why wait until is too late?

Begin using antiaging products now, why wait for the first signs of aging to show, which may send you into an unnecessary panic attack? You can begin today, preventative care is key across the board. “Women in their twenties should be using a topical retinoid–unless they’re pregnant or nursing,” says Francesca Fusco, M.D., assistant clinical professor of dermatology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City.

Why you should use the following: Retinoids, which contain vitamin A, are one of the most potent agents for preventing and reversing sun damage and signs of aging. And, says Hirsch, “they’re the ultimate multitasker. They speed skin renewal by shedding dull, pore-clogging cells and increase collagen production to prevent wrinkles.”

Begin today by making little changes! Please be safe this Memorial Day Weekend, thank you for stopping by and please don’t forget to “Pass the Blog”!

Tip of the Day: Business

What Not To Do! Avoid Being The Next Victim to Identity Theft

Be proactive, take initiative by learning what triggers online identity theft. Did you know changing passwords monthly, and securely disposing important documents in shredders regularly greatly decreases online identify theft by 97%?

Do you work in a shared computer environment such as a Real Estate Brokerage? Or are you a student who frequents computer labs? Do you use wireless services? Be sure the network joined is “secured”, meaning password protected.

Please take great caution when changing computers or even printers, make sure you keep or wipe the hard drive of all your personal and business data. Also, when browsing, use incognito tabs, once your session comes to an end, delete your history.

Why not follow the proper steps to keep your personal information safe? Protect your business, increase your ROI instead of having to chase identify thieves.

Have a great day and be safe this Memorial Weekend!

Explore The Top 3 Exfoliants

Top Benefits of Exfoliant Products

Aestheticians are key professionals in the Skincare industry; their vast experience, combined with ongoing education, will provide patients like you and I, the best and most effective products the market has to offer in order to achieve a radiant, beautiful complexion. According to Dermascope - “In our struggling economy, we all work hard to make the best choices when choosing which products to use so as to maximize results while minimizing costs in the treatment room. We also have to carefully consider these factors when recommending to our clientele what they should use for their home care regimen to complement the treatments we provide.”

Why exfoliate?

Is your complexion a target to minor breakouts? Well, using a good exfoliant product will balance your skin ph levels by controlling sebum production while treating and normalizing clogged skin with blackheads, white-heads, and minor acne breakouts.

Does your skin feel tight? Dehydrated? Do you have dry, scaly patches? By exfoliating, you will remove dead cells buildup, and your complexion will regain the radiant, glowing, and refreshed look again!

Exfoliants may restore radiance and a youthful appearance to the skin. Exfoliants containing natural marine extract will remove dead skin cells and impurities.

Luscious Skin Secrets

Having beautiful, soft skin isn’t always easy due to external factors which may potentially be dehydrating or/and harmful to the body’s largest organ. So, how do you keep your skin supple, healthy with a glowing look? Who else wants the ultimate secret to a smoother, more luscious, and dazzling skin? How can we protect this vital organ from pollution, climate changes, medication, and allergies? Why should we compromise our natural skin by depriving it from nourishment, hydration, and pliability?  Why not achieve a blissful glow by increasing our fluid intake, adding vitamin supplements, and using restorative products?

My mom is by far one of the most beautiful women I have ever met, she looks 30 years younger than her age; she’s well-educated, strong, and intelligent … I’m not saying this because she’s my mother, but because it’s the honest truth. She’s thought me the importance of skin care maintenance by protecting and nourishing it in every possible way, making it an imperative factor in slowing down the aging process. Growing up I didn’t pay much attention to it, however, the daily tips, comments, and continuous advice stuck with me, and today I follow them. My favorite is Vaseline Coco-Butter Vitalizing Gel Body Oil, this is a cheap product and goes a long way by leaving my skin with amazing results. I invite all of my readers and followers to give it a try to share all feedback and advice with me, I want to learn what your thoughts are.

Quick Overview

The way I use this magnificent product is in the shower, … yup, you read it right, in the shower. Right after taking a shower and before drying myself off with a towel, I will generously apply the gel body oil all over my body. This awesome product leaves the skin healthy and hydrated, light reflects off the rich color below the surface, giving it an amazing natural glow and supple feel/look. Enriched with natural minerals is also great for dry/brittle hair, or used for massage lotion as well.

The Truth about AHA’s

Alpha Hydroxy Acids

Known as AHA’s, fruit acids found in citrus fruits (citric), apples (malic) and papaya (pyruvic). Other acids in the family include lactic acid (from milk), tartaric acid (from red wine), and the most exciting and therefore most widely researched, glycolic acid (from sugar cane).

Lactic acid has been used to soften the skin for centuries and resurfaced in modern cosmetic creams in the 70′s after studies showed that combined with sodium lactate, it improved the skin’s moisture-holding capacity. Tartaric acid, too, has been in used for years: French women used to apply red wine to their faces. Collectively, AHA’s have recently been in the vanguard of the new cosmeceutical movement as they are used to formulate creams which perform beyond the normally superficial cosmetic role.

The dead skin cells build-up which gave icthyosis sufferers their crocodile-skin appearance could be alleviated with a glycolic acid preparation. They showed that the acid molecule dissolved the protein bond which kept a dead skin cell attached. Not only did glycollic acid prove capable of normalizing the desquamation process but could also improve the skin’s own moisture-retaining capabilities.

Dermatologists use AHA’s in concentrations up to 70 percent to perform acid peels and prescribe 5-20 percent AHA creams. The percentage contained in cosmetic creams varies from 1-7 percent. Some over the counter pharmacy brands  contain between 5-15 percent.

Cosmetic AHA preparations can help keep the skin free of dulling and skin-pore clogging dead cells. They can make  the skin slightly brighter and improve its moisture retention. Unlike the physician-prescribed higher concentrations, they cannot produce radical improvement in the ageing complexion. Recent studies suggest that AHA’s may also act as free radical scavengers, sending messages to the dermis to increase  collagen production and increase the skin’s tolerance to retinoids.
